My heart longs for realness
In unfinished sentences and crooked smiles
In waits,
And random reminders of this fleeting time
My heart reminds me it breaks
When it is held too tight then let to the ground
My eyes are joining the stake
They have known sad nights by long river banks
My heart starts to beat faster
When you say words that have once been lies
When you write long sentences
With chapped lips on the sheets of my mind
It is only just cold outside
And the season isn’t one for love
You’re making me warm inside
My walls crumble at the sound of your voice.
